    EDM Wire & Spark Erosion Machinist - Glasgow

    EDM Engineer

    As an EDM Engineer, you will set up and operate Spark Erosion and Wire Erosion machines to deliver high‑precision machining operations. You will play a key role in ensuring components are produced to exacting standards while supporting wider production needs.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Set up and operate EDM machinery, including Spark and Wire Erosion equipment.

    • Load raw materials and unload finished components safely and efficiently.

    • Adjust machine settings to meet required tolerances and production specifications.

    • Interpret technical drawings and work to customer‑defined tolerances.

    • Follow all procedures, safety guidelines, operating standards, and process documentation.

    • Maintain accurate logs of production activity, equipment issues, adjustments, and repairs.

    • Conduct machine inspections to identify mechanical or safety concerns.

    • Ensure machines are stocked with tooling and materials to minimise downtime.

    • Maintain a strong safety focus, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.

    • Provide flexibility and support during peak production periods.

    • Ability to follow instructions and work consistently to defined processes.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Time‑served EDM Engineer or equivalent experience.

    • Hands‑on experience with Spark Erosion and Wire Erosion processes.

    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

    • Experience producing precision components to high quality standards.

    • Knowledge of manufacturing regulations, safety procedures, and best practices.

    • Full‑time, permanent role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, on a three‑shift rotation (early, back, and night).
